Last Visitors and Goodbye for now

Our last visit of the season was short but very sweet. Our son brought his family to stay in a lovely space just steps from the harbor in La Maddalena, at the northern tip of Sardinia, where we shared four days together.

We enjoyed walks, meals at a garden table at their place, feeding the pet turtles in the garden, gelato, pizza, tongue twisters, and play time at the beach. The boys savored new experiences, culminating in an overnight on Grandma and Grandpa’s floating home.

But the best was a family outing on the boat. There was little wind, but we motored to and island we found our own little bay. We kayaked to the beach and played castaways on the rocks and sand as Quintessa stood by.

Sadly, our time together was cut short as Kate is returning to Portland early to see her mother, who is very ill.

John will close up Quintessa for storage and follow in a few days. We look forward to summer in Portland, and seeing many of you.
