It would be so, so wrong to give the impression that sailboat cruising consists only of Instagram moments! We were knocked down this week. Hours after a particularly delicious restaurant meal in Crete, John was visited by Hurlus, the Greek god of projectile vomiting, and Diarrheas, the god of, well, you know. We did all that could be done to comfort him, but he became seriously dehydrated, so we taxied to the nearby hospital. Providentially, the emergency department was not crowded, and the staff was kind and could help us in English. Dr. John and the Greek doctor got along, and after a good dose of IV saline, we were on our way, back to the boat so John could rest and consist on rice and bananas for a few days.
