Fortified–that’s a characteristic of a good Mediterranean sea town, from Gibralter to Turkey. It turns out that defending oneself has been a pretty important life hack for cities and islands since time immemorial. You may be able to detect from the photo that today was not a sailing day, because once again high winds were making the seas a pretty wild place. So we enjoyed walking the ancient walls of Alghero. Here we found remnants of the city’s weapons of self-defense.
Bonus: another thing we stumbled upon was this kitty village, tucked in right behind the wall. Not on the beaten track for tourists, but a fun find for us.
