It’s been a hectic couple of days, and the temptation is to fixate on the tiredness and missteps, but oh my, let’s take a breath and focus on where Quintessa sits at this present moment. We have “accidentally” ended up in the heart of Naples (again, another story…).
As I sit in the cockpit, the view to the north is boat harbor in the foreground and then the elegant, sun-kissed buildings of Naples.

To the east, dawn came this morning over cloud-capped Vesuvius, so close it fills the horizon.

The next view is of Italian workmen throwing around vowels and laboring over boat repairs in the small shipyard. (Okay, so the guys disappeared when I took the photo…)

Lastly, to west, we are literally overshadowed by a 12th century castle built by the Normans and integral to the history and mythology of the region.

Weariness gives way to wonder.
