It’s really happening! Here we are at the “new and improved” PDX, ready to move out of the country. Six pieces of luggage sounds like a lot, until you decide you can’t live without your folding bicycles (2), your inflatable kayak, and your 50 pounds of tools and boat parts. That means one bag apiece for snorkel gear, technology, boat boots, inflatable life jacket, foul weather gear, and –oh that’s right– clothing.
Preparing for this has been crazy and not without its bumps. This is where our incredible family and friend community come in. They have housed us, fed us, carried our stuff, encouraged us, prayed with us, and kicked us in the pants when we needed it. The “farewell tour” included gatherings of boat friends, work friends, church friends, neighbors and family. Sweetest of all was celebrating our granddaughter Trinity’s 10th birthday, the eve of our departure. It’s humbling to be sent out with so much love.
